SIN TEX - DUSTY TRAX - BRAND NEW CASSETTE TAPE

Through a dimensional glitch in the American West, two cowboys simultaneously inhabit the late 1800s and 1990s imprinting campfire tales to 1/8” tape just before the impending Y2k apocalypse. Twenty-five years later, the duo’s analogue recordings are discovered buried in a historic California vault and are painstakingly resurrected, mixed, and mastered.

They have a story to tell.

Tracked throughout 1997 and 1998, Jamisin Matthews cut his world-building teeth with these dark and weird country western tunes. SinTex foreshadows the scene-bending approach we’d hear in Le Mans; but, with the freedom of little to no production know how, the melodic rustic guitars of collaborator Tony Tavano, and a double shot of cockeyed pessimism.
