For Specials, Pasquale (pronounced Puh-skwa-lee) collects nearly a full hour of his favourite beats made this year. Pulled from his stockpile of songs good enough not to need any rappers, the loop-heavy beats were created in a small and lonely Vancouver apartment primarily with sounds found on records and various pieces of battery-operated gear. Specials is designed to be heard on headphones—a subpac couldn’t hurt, either—while you walk your dog. Conveniently available on cassette (with bonus tracks) for use in your walkman.
